John Lackey gets his second win of the season with a gutsy pitching performance against the A’s.  If anyone had any doubts about a rivalry between the Angels and the Oakland A’s just needed to see the emotions shown by both teams tonight. From Mike Piazza bursting a gut after being called out on a check swing to Nick Swisher taking exception to being beaned .  From Lackey screaming  and pounding his glove with raw emotion after getting out of a tight spot in the 7th to Scot Shields doing his best Frankie Rodriguez imitation for his first save of the season.

It’s only the first week of the season but, the blood is already boiling in this heated rivalry.

Don’t be surprised if the benches clear on Easter Sunday.
